Seipasa, a company specialized in the formulation, development and marketing of botanical and microbiological-based solutions (biopesticides, biostimulants and fertilizers) for agriculture, was 'Highly Commended’ at the 2018 Agrow Awards ceremony held in London. The biopesticide Seican was given this recognition within the category of Best New Biological Product, while Pirecris was distinguished in the category of Best Marketing Campaign.
Seipasa became the only Spanish company to receive these two special recognitions in these prestigious international awards, which have now reached 11 editions and have become a benchmark for innovation in the crop protection industry.
The CEO of Seipasa, Pedro Peleato, expressed his complete satisfaction at returning to the stage of the Agrow Awards, where last year Seipasa won the award for Best Formulation Innovation due to the biofungicide Fungisei.

Being here is a clear sign that we have the enthusiasm, talent and resources to achieve it" said Pedro Peleato, who also added that the recognition for Seican and for the Pirecris marketing campaign comes at a very special moment for Seipasa because it coincides with the celebration of its 20th anniversary”.
According to the judges, the ‘Highly Commended’ distinction for Seican in the category of Best New Biological Product is due to the innovation provided by the product, but also for its innovative formulation developed from substances of botanical origin.
Seican is a new concept, with 2 different modes of action in the same product: fungicide and insecticide for pest and disease control. For Seipasa's Chief Research Officer, Francisco Espinosa, Seican represents a new generation of products of high quality and efficacy without residues. “Seican responds to the strong social demand to produce food free of residues and totally aligned with the European regulatory framework of drastic reduction of chemical pesticides". In this category, the winner was Marrone Bio Innovations.
Pirecris Marketing Campaign
Within the category of Best Marketing Campaign, the judges commended Pirecris for the holistic concept developed from the image of the World Archery Champion, Encarna Garrido, and the values of efficacy, optimum performance and leadership she brings to the product.
Seipasa's Chief Marketing Officer, Juan Manuel López, remarked that the campaign aimed to make visible and give importance to the key role played by women in agriculture, a sector mainly occupied and dominated by men. "The leading role of the Pirecris campaign is represented by an elite sportswoman and World Champion in her modality. Encarna Garrido succeeded thanks to her great effort and excellence. These are essential values that women who work in the agri-food sector contribute every day, and Seipasa wanted to recognise these values through this campaign," said López. The award in this category went to BASF.
