Seipasa secures EU and Ivace+i funding to develop innovative triple-action botanical formulation for agriculture

November 17, 2025

The Spanish company Seipasa, specialized in the development of biopesticides, biostimulants and crop nutrition for agriculture, has received financial backing from the European Union and Ivace+i Innovation for the launch of an ambitious R&D&i project.

Named FITOINFUNGAC, the initiative aims to develop a multi-active plant protection formulation of botanical origin, capable of comprehensively fighting pests and diseases. The project, spearheaded by Seipasa, is designed to create an innovative and 100% botanical solution that unifies three key effects for crop protection into a single product: insecticide, fungicide, and acaricide.

To execute this development, Seipasa has been awarded €138,124.60 in funding, granted jointly by European Union funds and the Valencian Institute of Competitiveness and Innovation (Ivace+i).

The differentiating element of FITOINFUNGAC lies in its multi-active capacity. Seipasa's R&D team will investigate the synergy between various botanical compounds to identify interactions that will boost the efficacy of the final product.

The project not only pursues agronomic effectiveness but also integrates advanced formulation technologies to ensure a stable, safe, and natural prototype. This development is strictly aligned with the principles of the circular economy and the demands of sustainable agriculture, thus responding to the growing need for environmentally friendly solutions adapted to the European regulatory framework.

 Project Phases and Objectives

The FITOINFUNGAC roadmap involves an exhaustive research process, spanning from the laboratory to the field. Key objectives include:

  1. Active ingredient synergy: Evaluation of the individual and combined activity of botanical compounds to maximize their bioactivity.
  2. Formulation stability: Designing a product that guarantees proper preservation and performance under varying environmental conditions.
  3. Environmental safety: Study of the environmental behavior of key ingredients through standardized tests to ensure sustainability.
  4. Advanced functionality: Analysis of complementary properties, such as repellency, which are crucial for integrated pest management.
  5. Agronomic validation: The project will culminate with efficacy trials under controlled conditions, in proprietary fields, and independent tests conducted by leading technological centers.

With this new financial impetus, Seipasa reaffirms its commitment to innovation in the agrifood sector, championing tools that enable farmers to produce residue-free and high-quality food.
